Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards married her longtime love soccer star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the Algarve region of Portugal on Saturday (June 13). According to a repost of a British Vogue Insta feature with pictures from the wedding on Tuesday (June 16), the couple, both 32, tied the knot at the Igreja Matriz de Estoi church in the village of Estoi in Faro in a lavish ceremony attended by close friends and family.

The couple got engaged in 2022 and they share four-year-old son Axel and daughter Alanis, who was born in January. According to the post, the couple hosted a “long weekend” of celebrations, with guests including the bride’s former Little Mix bandmates, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock. The photos show Edwards holding a bouquet of white calla lilies and wearing her hair in a bun while walking down the aisle in a long, flowing white corseted wedding dress featuring long sleeves and lace detailing. Oxlade-Chamberlain, who plays for the Scottish Premiership club Celtic, wore a classic black tuxedo, accented with a white calla lily boutonniere.

After exchanging vows, the newlyweds were seen walking down the church’s stairs as guests tossed white rose petals at them and a blast of multicolored smoke lit up the sky. Edwards also posted a moody black and white photo of the happy couple standing cheek-to-cheek under her billowing veil as she introduced the world to “Mr. and Mrs. Oxlade-Chamberlain.”

Her photos also showed the smiling couple walking down the aisle hand-in-hand, exchanging vows and dancing at the reception, where Edwards sported a miniskirt version of her wedding dress and Oxlade-Chamberlain wore a black shirt and pants combo.

The accompanying British Vogue magazine story revealed that Edwards wore three different dresses for what she dubbed the “best day of my life — up there with the births of my children.” Of her form-fitting lace dress by designer Dana Harel, Edwards said, “I’ve always envisioned myself in lace … it’s just so classic and timeless.”

The magazine added that the bride’s reception look was a crystal embellished floor-length dress by Galia Lahav matched with Jimmy Choo heels for the first dance. But once the Sol & the Gang band got everyone out on the floor, she switched to her final look: a custom minidress from Annie’s Ibiza with Christian Louboutin heels and a matching headdress. “I wanted to change for the evening so I could dance and be free,” she said. “It was short and fun and fab and cinched to the heavens with the corset!”

The 140-person guest list included the groom’s football mates Mason Mount, Danny Welbeck and Kieran Gibbs, who joined them in the courtyard after the ceremony, where they had a champagne and ice cream toast to the strains of a traditional Portuguese guitarist. “We wanted to make sure every moment of the day was an experience for our guests,” said Edwards. “We had a sextet at the church, and a 16-piece band at the reception with a full brass section. It was incredible. I wanted the day to be full of music.”

That music included the wedding band performing Little Mix’s British No. 1 hit “Wings,” during the reception, as well as a version of “Don’t Let Go,” which harkened back to the singer’s time as a budding pop star on The X Factor, where Little Mix were formed into a group in 2011. The Vogue story noted that Thirlwall had to leave early due to a festival slot at Primavera Sound Barcelona, while Pinnock danced the night away with the bride, with Edwards gushing, “We were absolutely going off to En Vogue … we still remembered all of our harmonies and the choreography!”
