Fat Joe was a courtside staple at Madison Square Garden during the New York Knicks’ championship run this season. As an unofficial ambassador of the team, Knicks owner Jim Dolan tapped the Terror Squad rapper to lead a hip-hop-themed float during the Knicks championship parade on Thursday (June 18).
Fat Joe joined SportsCenter on Wednesday (June 17), where he revealed some of the star-studded guests that will be joining him on a float down the Canyon of Heroes, which includes Wu-Tang Clan, Jadakiss, Mary J. Blige and Fabolous.
“My float we got Wu-Tang, we got Mobb Deep, we got M.O.P., we got Mary J. [Blige], we got Remy Ma, we got Q-Tip, we got Fabolous, we got Ja Rule, The LOX and my partner Jadakiss. Yung Miami’s [coming],” Joe revealed. “We got the planet earth coming in. Mary J., the queen.”
He continued: “The only way to describe it is to be in euphoria. To be the happiest you’ve ever been in your life. There’s nothing like winning the chip. In New York City, we ain’t been able to act up and feel like this… Tomorrow’s gonna be incredible…. The whole hip-hop community. This is gonna be like the hall of fame of hall of fame.”
The Knicks clinched the franchise’s first championship since 1973 on Saturday (June 13) with a game five win over the San Antonio Spurs. Of course, Joey Crack was in attendance in San Antonio, as he’s traveled to every Knicks’ road playoff game this postseason.
The championship parade kicks off in NYC’s Battery Park at 10 a.m. ET on Thursday with a ride through the Canyon of Heroes and concludes with a City Hall ceremony, which will feature an “Empire State of Mind” performance from Alicia Keys.
